Protein Shakes for Weight Loss

I have read and am interested in using protein shakes for weight loss. I am starting this blog to detail my experience regarding protein shakes for weight loss.

Protein shakes for weight loss are based on the idea that by maximizing protein, the most important
macronutrient for the body, you can achieve weight loss. The reasoning is that when you use a protein supplement for weight loss you will increase the amount of protein relative to the other components of your diet.

The thing you have to remember is that protein has a satiating effect. This means that the more protein you eat out of your total daily calories the less hungry you will feel. Protein also has a thermogenetic effect on the body allowing you to burn more calories and speed up your metabolism. The major reason for weight loss is a surplus of calories. Protein only has on average 4 calories per gram, whereas fat has 9 calories per gram.

The purpose of this site is to detail my experience with protein shakes and weight loss. I intend to try a lot of products and see which ones get the best results. I will also detail my learning on how to use protein shakes for weight loss.

So the basic categories of the site will be related to what protein shakes to use for weight loss, how to use protein shakes for weight loss and any other relevant info related to both protein shakes or weight loss.
